A multi-ethnic editorial team was created with the aim of giving voice to life stories with an alternative point of view narrations, sometimes stereotyped, proposed by mainstream media.

Through the work of the editorial team, the intimacy of different lives is revealed: Baba, an Afghan merchant who works every day to support his family of sixty-five people; Chiara, a young trainee dealing with the inner conflicts experienced in a therapeutic community for drug addicts; Ndow, a Gambian refugee with a passion for football and the dream of becoming a tailor, and Mimoza, a “naïve” artist who discovers the real essence of relationships with other people using drawing as a therapeutic tool.

Si aprono così varchi inediti in esistenze in cui l’idea del viaggio diventa una metafora con cui guardare a diverse storie, da cammini iniziati in paesi lontani a percorsi che affondano le radici nel sentiero più complesso, quello della propria vita.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES 

The narration proceeds through the testimonies and interviews of the protagonists, who show various moments of their lives, in which they reveal significant aspects of their daily existence. The presence of a minimal crew, the use of a handheld camera and of natural lights limited external interference, an aspect that facilitated access to the intimate world of the protagonists. In this way, they showed some aspects of the contemporary world, revealing their own lives, too often deprived by the media narration of that inner side which restores humanity to everyone.

La presenza di una troupe minima, l’uso della macchina a mano e di luci naturali hanno limitato l’interferenza esterna, aspetto che ha agevolato l’accesso al mondo intimo dei protagonisti, che con le proprie vite hanno mostrato alcuni volti di una contemporaneità, troppo spesso privata dalla narrazione mediatica di quel lato interiore necessario a ridare umanità a ognuno.
